The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics. As a process operator, you will maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, participate in GMP audits and follow up on corrective actions, and perform daily sanitation tasks. You will also isolate and lock out equipment, write safety permits as required, and troubleshoot process interruptions to identify root causes. Maintaining environmental parameters for permit compliance, informing relevant partners and supervisors of machine performance irregularities to minimize production downtime, and minimizing production scrap are also key responsibilities. You will monitor and document soluble coffee quality using analytical tools, pull samples, conduct lab analysis, and make process adjustments to meet defined specifications. Collecting and reviewing all batch records, utilizing and completing Autonomous Maintenance (AM) responsibilities, and participating in process improvement activities are also part of the role. You will maintain scheduled throughput to meet team goals for reliability and budget standards, prepare SOP’s for new processes or operations as needed, and train other process operators. Demonstrating and understanding safety as a core value and following key safety essentials, reinforcing and coaching others to do the same, and documenting changes to center-lined parameters while recommending new process parameters are crucial. You will maintain daily production reports, exchange daily information with others, monitor the main load out area, and operate mobile equipment as needed. Generating work requests using the maintenance planning program, conducting pre-shift equipment/plant inspections, and completing required paperwork accurately are also expected. You will understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out), and support food safety, legality, and quality programs. Maintaining product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications, and quality procedures, and monitoring and documenting quality measures using analytical tools are essential. Performing other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values, and maintaining regular and consistent attendance and punctuality are also required.
