About The Position

Shaw Industries is seeking Lift Truck Operators to move and transport products to and from inventory locations while maintaining product quality and avoiding harm, danger, or damage. The position is on a second shift, Monday through Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., on an 8-hour, non-rotating shift. Operators retrieve products from inventory bins and transport them to designated locations as directed by an onboard computer or management personnel. They also perform tasks related to wrapping, loading docks, trailers, palletized freight, and lift truck batteries. Employees must follow the normal work schedule and attendance policy and be able to work necessary overtime. Additional duties may include assisting with other work, performing tasks for which they are OJT-certified, and keeping the work area clean. The role is performed in a warehouse environment and requires prolonged sitting on a lift truck, mounting and dismounting it 80 to 90 times per shift, and repeatedly handling up to 50 pounds. Operators must be able to handle rough backing and latex-based products. They must complete required SMS training and follow corporate and facility safety rules, including the use of appropriate PPE.

Requirements

Must be able to perform simple mathematics.
Must be able to use an onboard computer.
Must be able to sit on a lift truck for long periods of time.
Must be able to mount and dismount a lift truck 80 to 90 times per shift.
Must be able to physically handle up to 50 pounds multiple times per shift.
Must be able to handle rough backing and latex-based products.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment.
Must complete required SMS training and adhere to corporate and facility safety rules, including proper PPE use.

Responsibilities

Retrieve products from inventory bins and transport them to the proper locations as directed by the onboard computer or management personnel.
Place unwrapped product on the wrapping station as needed.
Raise or lower the dock leveler as needed.
Use the orange cone system to identify full or empty trailers.
Use a lift truck to transport palletized freight as needed.
Have the lift truck battery changed as needed.
Hand-load trailers when requested by management personnel.
Ensure product packaging is complete before placing products in the proper location.
Follow the normal work schedule, starting and stopping times, and company attendance and tardiness policy.
Work necessary overtime.
Assist with other jobs and duties as needed.
Perform duties for which the employee is OJT-certified.
Help keep the work area clean.
Complete required SMS training and follow corporate and facility safety rules, including use of appropriate PPE.
