About The Position

This role involves supervising and guiding lead operators and lift operators in their daily duties, ensuring high standards of work ethic, and verifying procedural standards. The position requires training and orienting staff, appraising performance, and assisting with scheduling and employee check-in/check-out. The supervisor will also provide performance feedback, prepare lifts for opening and closing, investigate lift-related accidents, and address guest complaints. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting safety and providing excellent guest service. The role requires full-time availability, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must have at least a high school diploma or a General Education Certificate (GED).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must have 1 plus year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must have advanced ski/snowboard skills.
  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and nights when needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee must frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, shovel, rake, or ice chip.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide lead operators and lift operators with their daily duties.
  • Continuously set a high standard of work ethic.
  • Verify and inspect daily procedural standards.
  • Train and orient lead operators and lift operators to their positions and department.
  • Appraise and discipline lift operators on performance.
  • Assist in building daily schedule.
  • Assist in checking employees in during morning meeting and check out at end of day.
  • Provide employees with regular performance feedback and assist with mid-season reviews.
  • Prepare lifts, mazes and corrals for the opening and closing each day.
  • Responsible for proper investigation and handling of lift-related skier accidents.
  • Addressing guest complaints and resolving problems.
  • Actively promotes and keeps safety a priority.
  • Provide excellent guest service.
  • Ability to fill any operational role in lift operations or pass checking.
