About The Position

This role teaches and directs up to 80 staff in proper lift operations techniques, emphasizing safety, guest satisfaction, and Schweitzer regulations. The position involves scheduling crew members, breaking Lift Operators and stations, providing communication between departments, and assisting with training and documentation for all staff. The Lift Operations Rover/Trainer is responsible for ANSI compliance, lift station professionalism, break rotations, skill assessment, and supporting managers in safe daily operations. Additionally, this role assists with scheduling, budget adherence, radio coordination with mountain operations, ticket validations, and maintaining lift ramps and mazes. Secondary responsibilities include shoveling snow, physically assisting guests, and possessing extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events. Employees may work alone for up to two hours at a time.
Requirements
- Returning Staff ONLY
- Minimum education required - English reading, writing, communication and basic math.
- Minimum time in a related position - On the job experience in Lift Operations – 3 years minimum.
- Able to stand outside in all weather conditions and temperatures.
- Able to assist guests stand up with possibility of lifting 50+ pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events.
- Driver’s License preferred
- Leadership and training skills preferred
- Familiarity with Lift Operations and mechanics
- Snowmobile experience preferred
- Mechanical experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Teaches and directs up to 80 staff in the proper lift operations techniques.
- Stresses safety, guest satisfaction and Schweitzer regulations.
- Schedules crew members.
- Responsible for breaking Lift Operators and stations.
- Providing communication and directions from Lift Captains to Supervisors.
- Assisting in training and documentation with all staff.
- Responsible for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) compliance at all lift stations.
- Responsible for lift station professionalism and communication of Lift Captain needs to Supervisors.
- Assists in break rotations and operations of all lift stations throughout the day.
- Position requires helping with skill assessment and training of new and current staff.
- Supports managers in the safe daily operation of our crew and equipment.
- Assists with scheduling teams.
- Responsible for working within the budget guidelines and work towards maintaining fiscal responsibility.
- Maintain radio coordination with several mountain operations departments throughout the day.
- Assist with ticket validations throughout the day.
- Responsible for maintaining lift ramps and mazes as well as set up and tear-down of ropes and mazes.
- Shovel snow
- Physically lift/assist children and handicapped skiers onto chairlifts.
- Other duties as assigned
