Requirements

  • Returning Staff ONLY
  • Minimum age: 18
  • English reading, writing, communication and basic math.
  • On the job experience in Lift Operations – 3 years minimum.
  • Able to stand outside in all weather conditions and temperatures.
  • Able to assist guests stand up with possibility of lifting 50+ pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of Schweitzer Mountain Resort facilities and events.
  • Leadership and training skills preferred
  • Familiarity with Lift Operations and mechanics
  • Snowmobile experience preferred
  • Mechanical experience a plus
  • Driver’s License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Teaches and directs up to 80 staff in the proper lift operations techniques.
  • Stresses safety, guest satisfaction and Schweitzer regulations.
  • Schedules crew members.
  • Responsible for breaking Lift Operators and stations, providing communication and directions from Lift Captains to Supervisors, assisting in training and documentation with all staff.
  • Responsible for American National Standards Institute (ANSI) compliance at all lift stations.
  • Responsible for lift station professionalism and communication of Lift Captain needs to Supervisors.
  • Assists in break rotations and operations of all lift stations throughout the day.
  • Position requires helping with skill assessment and training of new and current staff.
  • Supports managers in the safe daily operation of our crew and equipment.
  • Assists with scheduling teams.
  • Responsible for working within the budget guidelines and work towards maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Maintain radio coordination with several mountain operations departments throughout the day.
  • Assist with ticket validations throughout the day.
  • Responsible for maintaining lift ramps and mazes as well as set up and tear-down of ropes and mazes.
  • Shovel snow
  • Physically lift/assist children and handicapped skiers onto chairlifts.
  • Other duties as assigned
