About The Position

Nexstar Media Inc.’s Portland, Oregon, operation – KRCW/Portland’s CW and KOIN-TV – is looking for a Lifestyle Show Production Assistant (Part Time) for its hour-long weekday lifestyle show Everyday Northwest. You’ll support daily production of its lifestyle program. You will develop and organize daily segments for lifestyle brands, work in studio and in the field to support production of daily content. Writing, shooting, and editing are key elements of this position.

Requirements

BS/BA from an accredited four-year university or related work experience
Must be proficient MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Detail oriented and self-managing
Driven personality forwarding goal setting
Skilled in small tech mobile shooting and editing
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
Ability to work with smartphone editing software such as CapCut / Canva / Instagram Edits
Fluency on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok
Videography and photography proficiency to present a professional image.
A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

Nice To Haves

Strongly preferred experience with AP ENPS and Ross Xpression.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily production of lifestyle and news programs and specials
Research and pitch segment ideas
Manage the show calendar
Assist in control booth
Fill in for Lifestyle Producer to oversee program development and on air as needed.
Identify content opportunities amongst lifestyle brands and digital platforms
Helps prepare for large scale station events by gathering materials/gear/equipment.
Assists with on-site promotions in the community including setup/tear down and event management.
Attend shoots/live productions to assist with video production.
Help assist lifestyle team with planning and prep work of large-scale station projects.
Assist in content creation for lifestyle websites/social platforms/TV as needed.
Training lifestyle interns
Coordination with sales team and creative services
Booking local community segments along with sales segments
Mic guests and help with camera operation when needed
Create a content calendar for social media based on the shows’ programming
Deliver platform-ready content daily that represents the lifestyle brand at KOIN while collaborating with the shows’ talent.
Research relevant social media trends to utilize in social content.
Utilize content already available from the program to create social media content.
Performs other duties as assigned.
