About The Position

This is a temporary, summer seasonal position working under the direct supervision of the Pool and Waterfront Coordinator. The primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.

Requirements

• Up-To-Date American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
• American Red Cross CPR, AED & First Aid for the Professional Rescuer
• Available from Memorial Day Weekend – Labor Day Weekend.
• Must also be available to work weekdays & weekends.
• Ability to swim
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision and the ability to adjust focus.

• An understanding of facility policies, procedures and rules.
• Leadership qualities and public relations skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Considerable ability in following directions, establishing working relationships, and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Enforce ALL Aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.
• Recognize and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Inspect the aquatic facility on a daily schedule and report unsafe conditions and equipment to the supervisor.
• Complete ACCURATE records and reports.
• Participate in in-service training.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
