About The Position
The YMCA is seeking individuals age 15 or older to serve as lifeguards. The role involves helping ensure the safety of pool participants and members in Wellness Centers, applying organizational safety procedures, and maintaining clean and organized pool decks and wellness centers. Lifeguards can develop communication, leadership, and responsibility skills and receive support from the leadership team, along with opportunities to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Be at least 15 years of age.
- Have American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or be able to pass the course.
- Be passionate about water safety and have strong swimming skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants and members in Wellness Centers.
- Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck, aquatic areas, and wellness areas.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing, and of the wellness centers.
