About The Position

The Lifeguard at Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa’s Wild Bear Falls Water Park ensures the safety and supervision of guests and responds to emergencies according to established procedures. The role requires American Red Cross lifeguard certification; training for American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications will be provided upon hiring. The position includes maintaining guest surveillance, assisting with facility cleanliness, preparing activity reports, attending in-service training, and supporting team members as needed. The role is based at the resort in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and requires weekend and holiday availability.

Requirements

• American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is required; the posting states training for certifications will be provided upon hiring.
• American Red Cross, CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications; training for certifications will be provided upon hiring.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively with guests and team members.
• Ability to recognize unsafe and hazardous situations and react properly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Must pass a background screen and drug test and prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance by scanning and monitoring guests in the assigned pool or water park area.
• Render emergency care and contact emergency medical services as necessary.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
• Prepare and maintain activity reports.
• Attend scheduled in-service training and follow established safety procedures.
• Assist team members with other duties as required.
