About The Position
The part-time Lifeguard at Valley Health Wellness and Fitness Center is responsible for providing safety to members and guests in the pools and surrounding areas. The facility is managed by Power Wellness Management, which specializes in managing medically integrated health and fitness centers. The role requires maintaining pool safety, supervising swimmers, responding to emergencies, and helping maintain pool, exercise, and emergency equipment. The Lifeguard must meet applicable safety requirements and certifications, understand emergency procedures, and communicate confidently with EMS. Weekday morning hours; hiring range is $15.00–$16.00.
Requirements
- Current Lifeguard certification from a nationally recognized organization.
- CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire; provided by Power Wellness.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum two years of part-time lifeguard experience preferred.
- Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain safety in the pools and surrounding pool areas.
- Supervise members and guests and take lifesaving measures when necessary.
- Participate in maintenance of the pool, exercise equipment, and emergency equipment.
- Be proficient in core business software relevant to job duties and responsibilities.
- Work toward departmental and organizational goals.
- Be flexible and accommodating regarding center hours and work schedules.
- Meet all safety requirements and certifications necessary to perform job duties.
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency and safety procedures and communicate confidently with EMS.
- Participate in the company's HIPAA and related training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
