About The Position
The YMCA is seeking individuals age 15 or older to work as lifeguards in its Wellness Centers. The role involves keeping pool participants and members safe, following safety procedures, and maintaining clean and organized pool and wellness areas. Lifeguards can develop communication, leadership, and responsibility skills while working with the support of the YMCA leadership team and gaining opportunities to learn and grow.
Requirements
- Be at least 15 years of age.
- Hold an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or be able to pass the course.
- Have a passion for water safety and strong swimming skills.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and surveillance of all pool participants and members in the Wellness Centers.
- Understand and apply organizational safety procedures for the pool deck, aquatic areas, and wellness areas.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing, and of the wellness centers.
