About The Position

HealthFitness is seeking energetic part-time Lifeguards to join our team at our client site located in Burlington, Wisconsin. This role involves approximately 10-12 hours per week and is ideal for individuals passionate about creating a safe, welcoming aquatic environment and connecting with people. The position focuses on monitoring and ensuring the safety and well-being of patrons in the aquatic facility, enforcing rules, responding to emergencies, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the facility.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.
Flu vaccination required during the Fall season.
Perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim, Active/Passive/Submerged rescues, Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water, and other various techniques learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
Respond appropriately to any emergency.
Perform chemical testing and document results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
Attend all required staff meetings and training.
Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
Maintain a professional attitude.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
