About The Position

SafeSplash is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to oversee the safety of employees and customers and help maintain a safe environment for students, parents, and staff. The Lifeguard reports directly to the General Manager and contributes to a safe, positive experience for swimmers and the community. The position requires work on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends for at least 10 hours per week, though seasonality may affect hours. Work is on-site. Training is available for required certifications.

Requirements

Lifeguard certification is required and must be maintained during employment; training is available.
Current CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications are required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained; training is available.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Comfortable working around water and interacting with children and parents.
Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds and remain on one's feet for long periods.

Responsibilities

Maintain constant surveillance to ensure customer safety and report unsafe activities, equipment, or instruction to management.
Provide instructors with immediate feedback when they are outside curriculum safety requirements, including safety distances, holds, and turning their backs.
Act immediately and appropriately to protect customers during emergencies.
Provide emergency care and treatment as needed until emergency medical services arrive.
Prepare appropriate incident reports.
Maintain a professional and engaging attitude.
Attend monthly in-services to continue developing lifeguarding skills.
Deliver a world-class customer experience by ensuring a safe environment for swimmers.
Learn the curriculum, including all safety aspects, within 30 days of employment.
