About The Position

SafeSplash is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard to oversee the safety of employees and customers and help maintain a safe environment for students, parents, and staff. The role supports the school’s safety standards and provides a welcoming experience for swimmers. Lifeguards report directly to the General Manager, while the posting also identifies School Leadership as the reporting contact. This is an on-site role requiring at least 10 hours per week. Weekday, weeknight, and weekend availability is required, and hours may vary due to seasonality. Lifeguard certification must be maintained throughout employment. CPR-PR, First Aid, and AED certifications must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained; training is available. Employees are expected to learn the curriculum, including its safety requirements, within 30 days of employment.

Requirements

Lifeguard certification is required and must be maintained during employment; training is available.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Comfort working around water and interacting with children and parents.
Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds and remain on one's feet for long periods.
Availability for weekdays, weeknights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Maintain constant surveillance to ensure customer safety and report unsafe activities, equipment, or instruction to management.
Promptly provide feedback to instructors when they are outside curriculum safety requirements, including safety distances, holds, and turning their backs.
Act immediately and appropriately to protect customers during emergencies.
Provide emergency care and treatment as required until emergency medical services arrive.
Prepare appropriate incident reports.
Maintain a professional and engaging attitude.
Attend monthly in-services to continue developing lifeguarding skills.
Deliver a world-class customer experience by ensuring a safe environment for swimmers.
