About The Position
The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking individuals aged 16 and older to serve as lifeguards. This role offers an opportunity to develop valuable life skills such as communication, leadership, and responsibility. As a lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants, understanding and applying organizational safety procedures, and maintaining the cleanliness of the pool deck and aquatic areas.
Requirements
- Age 16+
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to pass the course
- Passionate about safety around water and strong swim skills
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safety and surveillance of all pool participants
- Understanding and applying organizational safety procedures for the pool deck and aquatic areas
- Maintaining organization and cleanliness of the pool deck, including skimming and brushing
