Part Time - Lifeguard - Evening Shift - Clear Lake, IA
About The Position
At One Vision, our Wellness Center is more than a pool-it's a place where community members, Glen Oaks residents, and individuals receiving services come together to stay active, build connections, and enjoy recreational opportunities. We're looking for a dependable and motivated Evening Lifeguard to help provide a safe and welcoming experience for our Wellness Center members and guests. With a short evening shift, this opportunity can be an especially great fit for students, individuals with daytime commitments, or anyone looking to add a few meaningful hours to their week.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Strong swimming abilities, including: Swimming 300 yards using freestyle and breaststroke
- Treading water for 2 minutes without using hands
- Retrieving a 10-pound object from 7-10 feet of water and returning it within required time standards
- Willingness to complete Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid training
- Must pass required background checks and screenings
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with or supporting individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Monitoring pool and spa areas to maintain a safe environment
- Performing routine water testing and documenting results
- Maintaining cleanliness throughout the pool, locker rooms, and common areas
- Building positive relationships with members, guests, and visitors
- Assisting with swim lessons, birthday parties, programs, and special events as scheduled
- Responding appropriately to emergencies and safety concerns
- Supporting daily Wellness Center operations and end-of-day needs as assigned
