About The Position
Under direct supervision, the Lifeguard Attendant is responsible for safeguarding swimmers and non-swimmers at assigned facilities. This role involves enforcing pool safety rules, maintaining facility cleanliness, monitoring conditions, and providing customer service. The position is year-round and located at various Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks facilities, including Dundalk and Randallstown Community Centers.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age by September 1, 2026.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- One year of lifeguarding experience.
- Current and valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- Current and valid American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Experience providing customer service.
Responsibilities
- Safeguards swimmers and non-swimmers who patronize County aquatics facilities.
- Enforces established pool safety, swimming and facility rules and regulations.
- Provides excellent customer service to patrons.
- Keeps facilities clean and free from hazards.
- Monitors weather and water conditions and alerts patrons to changing conditions.
- Performs routine tasks such as opening and closing facilities, monitoring activities, directing swimmers, providing first aid, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Performs other related duties as required.
