About The Position

Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive Life & Workforce Readiness program for a designated Club, with an emphasis on middle school and high school development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate with children in a Boys & Girls Club environment.
  • Ability to engage with the general public and community organizations.
  • Ability to organize, supervise, and inspire members in a safe environment.
  • Must meet all requirements set forth by BGC’s insurer for the operation of any motor vehicle in course and scope of the position’s duties.
  • Ability to pass Department of Human Services background check.

Responsibilities

  • Create a positive environment that supports youth development: Promote and encourage program participation. Apply youth development techniques. Provide guidance and serve as a role model. Engage directly with youth in program activities. Serve as an adult mentor to all Club youth. Provide career mentorship through individual and small group support to prepare youth for employment and career opportunities. Offer personalized guidance on post-secondary education and career pathways.
  • Facilitate small-group workforce readiness programs for middle and high school members. Assist with member recruitment to increase participation in workforce readiness initiatives. Collaborate with Club leadership to ensure program success and alignment with organizational goals. Help establish program objectives and ensure deliverables are met or exceeded.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations and employers. Plan and coordinate off-site workforce readiness experiences at various workplaces. Assist in organizing community events related to workforce readiness.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-operation safety inspections of the program area. Participate in all grant-related training and reporting to ensure compliance. Attend all required and recommended Club training and staff meetings.
  • Actively collaborate with Club staff, providing support and sharing resources.
  • Foster a productive work environment by collaborating with staff and volunteers.
  • Participate in special programs and events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
