About The Position

The Life Skills Trainer works in a day program in Delran, New Jersey, on a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (40 hours). The starting pay is $16.25 per hour, with additional differentials for education and experience: $0.50 per hour for 1–4 years of experience and $1.00 per hour for 5 or more years of experience.

The role provides essential support and companionship to individuals, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to helping others. Paid orientation and training are required. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid, non-probationary driver’s license held for at least one year, with no restrictions.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to supporting others.
• Ability to safely bend, lift, and assist individuals with mobility.
• Provide proof of a valid, non-probationary driver’s license held for at least one year.
• Ability to attend paid orientation and commit to training.

Nice To Haves

• Six months to one year of caregiving or human services experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care, including bathing, toileting, and hygiene.
• Transport clients to appointments using company vehicles.
• Prepare meals and assist with light housekeeping.
• Provide wheelchair assistance and ensure safe mobility.
• Offer companionship and meaningful social interaction.
• Help maintain the safety and well-being of each individual served.
• Use proper lifting techniques and body mechanics when assisting clients.
