About The Position
The Life Enrichment Director promotes the three principles of assisted living—offering choice, maintaining dignity, and promoting individuality—to create an environment of “Optimal Living” for all residents. The schedule is Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requirements
- Two years of experience working with older adults in assisted living, adult day care, or a related field.
- One year of experience in activity program planning and development.
- Knowledge of computers and software applications needed to professionally publish monthly newsletters and calendars.
- Valid state driver's license and any specialized licenses required to operate multi-passenger vehicles, or the willingness and capability to acquire them, as required by state regulations.
- Skilled at building relationships with residents.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in music, art, or recreational therapy.
- Certification in an accredited activity training course.
Responsibilities
- Design, facilitate, and conduct a comprehensive activities program that meets the needs of all residents, using their Life Stories, interests, and preferences as the basis for program components.
- Orient new residents to the community.
- Supervise the Life Enrichment Assistant and/or Driver.
- Plan and supervise volunteer services within the community.
- Coordinate resident family events.
