About The Position

The Life Enrichment Director creates and leads engaging programs that promote social connection, wellness, and quality of life for residents. The role assesses residents’ activity interests and needs, provides therapeutic activities tailored to individuals, and helps foster a vibrant community environment. The director also supervises activities assistants, manages the volunteer program, ensures programming follows applicable guidelines, and partners with other departments to support community marketing efforts.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities and events.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn new applications.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of residents and staff.
Ability to set up and tear down activities, including moving furniture and setting up folding tables.
Clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in Activities in Senior Living preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Recreation Therapy or Gerontology, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assess each individual patient to determine activity interests and needs.
Provide therapeutic activities that meet each patient's individual interests and needs.
Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
Supervise activities assistants, including training, scheduling, and evaluation.
Manage the center volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition.
Ensure that programming meets all local, state, and federal guidelines.
Partner with other departments to support marketing efforts in the community.
Perform other duties as assigned.
