Life Enrichment Director
About The Position
The Life Enrichment Director creates and leads programs that promote residents’ social connection, wellness, and quality of life. The role assesses residents’ activity interests and needs, provides therapeutic activities tailored to those needs, facilitates monthly Resident Council meetings, and supervises activities assistants. The director also manages the center’s volunteer program, ensures programming meets applicable local, state, and federal guidelines, and partners with other departments to support community marketing efforts. Other duties may be assigned. The position is at NHC HealthCare Lexington in West Columbia, South Carolina. Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging activities and events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn new applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of residents and staff.
- Clean driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in activities in senior living preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as Recreation Therapy or Gerontology, preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assess each individual patient to determine activity interests and needs.
- Provide therapeutic activities that meet each patient’s interests and needs.
- Facilitate monthly Resident Council meetings.
- Supervise activities assistants, including training, scheduling, and evaluation.
- Manage the center volunteer program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and recognition.
- Ensure programming complies with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Partner with other departments to support community marketing efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Set up and tear down activities, including moving furniture and setting up folding tables.
