Life Enrichment Director - Activities Director
About The Position
The Life Enrichment Director oversees and coordinates the facility’s activities programs and resident outings, and develops a volunteer program to support the department. The director supervises campus activity staff and has administrative authority as assigned by the Community Builder (LNHA), with responsibility and accountability for activities and beauty shop personnel and for developing the activities program in compliance with nursing home and residential care facility rules and guidelines. The role participates in implementing Otterbein Sunset Village’s mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies. The organization is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care in its communities and small house neighborhoods. The director plans and administers ongoing group and individual social activities, outings, spiritual programs, and creative, artistic, and educational opportunities. The role encourages resident participation, procures necessary equipment and supplies, and develops and maintains the activity department budget.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience within an activities department in a senior living community or in event coordinating.
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

- Recreational Therapist preferred.
Responsibilities
- Plan and administer ongoing group and individual social activities, outings, spiritual programs, and creative, artistic, and educational opportunities.
- Encourage resident participation in activities.
- Procure necessary equipment and supplies.
- Develop and maintain the activity department budget.
- Oversee and coordinate activities programs and resident outings.
- Develop a volunteer program to support the department.
- Supervise campus activity staff.
- Oversee activities and beauty shop personnel and develop the activities program in compliance with applicable nursing home and residential care facility rules and guidelines.
- Participate in implementing the mission, philosophy, objectives, and policies of Otterbein Sunset Village.
