About The Position
The Lien Hearing Representative will be responsible for representing clients (Employers, Insurance Companies and TPA's) during lien conferences, lien trials, and other related appearances. This role can be performed remotely or in a hybrid capacity, with the expectation of attending WCAB venues in person or remotely as needed.
Requirements
- Two or more years of experience working as a Hearing Representative in California Workers’ Compensation Defense (Required)
- Knowledge of CA Workers’ Compensation law
- Highly motivated, results-driven, high energy, and a sense of urgency
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to outstanding customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks efficiently with little supervision
- Client-focused, with the ability to deliver results
Responsibilities
- Managing a full caseload of Lien files
- Preparing, drafting, obtaining, and filing legal documents
- Performing research relevant to each request for workers' compensation case
- Communicating with relevant parties involved in a case
- Communicating regularly with clients with status and hearing reports
- Attending all case related hearings and negotiating settlements
- Preparing a proposal to resolve each lien/case
- Maintaining case notes
- Traveling to assigned Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) locations as needed
- Entering billing notes according to different client specifications
- Maintaining billable hours
- Represent Albert & Mackenzie and our clients with respect and integrity
