About The Position

This position provides support to the Manager, L&C and the Licensure & Certification (L & C) department. The role is Remote-Centric Hybrid, requiring the individual to be willing to work onsite one day per week. The specialist will be responsible for credentialing and re-credentialing individual providers, enrollment and revalidation with government and commercial payors, and maintaining regular contact with state licensing and federal regulatory agencies. The role also involves providing timely turnaround of credentialing information, managing federal projects, working within strict time frames with discretion and confidentiality, and collaborating with state and government agencies, and legal representatives. Additionally, the specialist will research and help develop department policies and procedures, and undertake other assigned projects requiring teamwork. Regular and reliable attendance is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Excellent PC Skills including Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat experience
  • Able to type proficiently and accurately while recording entries into multiple Licensure & Certification databases to track work status
  • Able to read, understand, and translate legalese and state statutes and regulations, both verbally and in writing, for relevant stakeholders
  • Must be willing to work onsite 1 day per week
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience as detailed above is required; in lieu of a degree
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy are needed to perform in this work environment
  • Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • Experience drafting and completing Medicare 855B applications is preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Credentialing Certification or experience, or Paralegal Certification or experience preferred
  • CPCS Certification is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Credentialing and re-credentialing individual providers related to the operation of Anesthesia and ASC entities
  • Enrollment and revalidation of providers with government and commercial payors
  • Regular contact via telephone and correspondence with state licensing agencies and federal regulatory agencies such as Medicare carriers to enroll providers into the Medicare program
  • Provide timely turnaround of credentialing information and federal projects
  • Work within a strict time frame of setting priorities, using discretion to exercise confidentiality
  • Work with state and government agencies, and legal representatives
  • Research and help to develop policies and procedures for the department
  • Other projects as assigned requiring the ability to work with other co-workers toward successful completion
