About The Position

The Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy (LBMT) is a regulatory agency focused on protecting the public and upholding the integrity of the massage therapy profession. The Board ensures that massage therapists meet educational standards, adhere to ethical and legal requirements, and that massage establishments comply with governing laws and rules. The LBMT office, located centrally in EBRP, is a small team supporting the seven-member Massage Therapy Board. This Licensing Analyst position is crucial to the regulatory process, providing support to both new and existing licensees.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses.
  • OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field.
  • OR A bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, conveying information, ideas, and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding, engagement, and patience.
  • Ability to accept direction, be open to learning, and follow guidance or instructions.
  • Ability to follow, reinforce, and maintain compliance with federal and state legal requirements, State Civil Service rules, and organizational policies.
  • Ability to make choices that reflect ethical standards, integrity, and honesty, regardless of circumstances or personal benefit.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in thoughts, behaviors, time management, and actions in response to evolving circumstances or unexpected change.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary resource and first point of contact for guidance on statutes, rules, regulations, applications, licensing, license management, renewals, website assistance, and other related information.
  • Performs administrative and office support functions.
  • Examines and analyzes applicant information for accuracy, authenticity, and completeness to determine eligibility and qualification for licensure.
  • Oversees and audits license management functions.
  • Processes license renewals.
  • Assists with Board meeting preparation, inspection management, correspondence, and data recording.
  • Assists with hearing preparation, investigations, and complaints.
