About The Position

The Licensing Analyst Supervisor reports to the Deputy Executive Director and directly supervises Licensing Analyst I and II staff responsible for processing EI, PE, PLS, renewal, reinstatement, and engineering and land surveying firm applications. The position oversees licensing operations to ensure compliance with Louisiana laws, rules, Board policies, and established procedures; exercises independent judgment on complex licensing matters; and works closely with NCEES, other licensing jurisdictions, applicants, licensees, professional organizations, and Enforcement staff. The position is also responsible for staff development, workload management, licensing records and systems, and continuous improvement of licensing processes. The Licensing Analyst Supervisor will enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and continuity of LAPELS licensing operations while supporting the Board’s responsibility to ensure that applicants and licensees meet all applicable requirements.

Requirements

  • Six years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR An advanced degree plus two years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees the daily operations of the Licensing Division to ensure licensing, renewal, reinstatement, firm registration, and related activities are completed accurately and timely in accordance with applicable statutes, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Provides direct supervision to Licensing Analyst I and II staff.
  • Assigns and distributes work, establishes priorities, monitors workloads, and determines appropriate procedures to ensure staff productivity and quality of work.
  • Reviews current and long-range projects affecting licensing operations and adjusts assignments and priorities as necessary to meet deadlines and Board objectives.
