About The Position

The Licensing Analytics team at Disney Consumer Products (DCP) uses data and quantitative techniques to uncover insights about licensing partners, retailers, and consumers. This role supports major decision-makers in shaping Disney Consumer Products offerings by leveraging data assets and providing quantitative analysis. The team collaborates with various stakeholders to improve Disney's product offerings.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to piece together different data points.
  • Proven competency in data collection, data mapping/attribution, design, data analysis, and data quality control.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and develop concise recommendations.

  • Technical proficiency in data pipeline technologies and ETL tools and languages such as SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep.
  • Technical proficiency in database technologies such as Snowflake, SQL Server.
  • Technical proficiency in data visualization and consumption tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, Business Objects.
  • Technical proficiency in data warehouse and data lake architecture.
  • Technical proficiency in scripting languages such as Snowscript, Javascript, VBA, Python.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate analysis linked to owned retail and licensee data, enhanced through industry insights.
  • Facilitate analyses and projects across cross-functional teams, collaborating with data partners.
  • Support financial forecasts, evaluate theatrical performance, size campaign ROI, and conduct ad-hoc analysis for senior executives.
  • Support Retail & Marketing leaders in developing strategies to drive demand, identify opportunities, pitch partners, forecast sales, plan activations, inform business decisions, and measure strategy effectiveness.
  • Identify appropriate external data sources, reconcile data sets, identify proxies, and communicate assumptions behind analyses, especially when data availability is limited or inconsistent.
  • Leverage data to support retail, marketing, and commercial decision-making by converting ideas into structured solutions.
  • Partner with data scientists and technology partners to link data assets with analytical techniques.
  • Create compelling dashboards and intelligence tools using visualization techniques to interpret commercial performance metrics.
  • Code backend processes for quick data access and develop presentations that synthesize complex data into compelling stories.
  • Analyze performance to determine actionable insights and transform them into stories to guide partners.
  • Collaborate across partner teams to consolidate findings and recommendations.
  • Benchmark industry to provide new perspectives and options for consideration and testing.
  • Build compelling decks and presentations for senior executive forums.
  • Manage a backlog of ongoing requests for data discovery and insight, researching new analytical approaches.
  • Be flexible with changing business needs and adaptable with work requests.
