This specific role is for a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse in the SF - Presidio Terrace Office, assisting physicians with various procedures and ensuring smooth office operations.

Requirements

Licensed to practice in the State of CA.
Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems.
Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Excellent patient relation and customer services skills.
Open availability to work during weekdays and weekends.
Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
Dermatology experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares patients for surgery, including scheduling surgeries and preoperative visits, coordinating with surgeons and assistants, and taking preoperative photographs.
Performs post-operative care for minor surgeries, such as dressing changes, suture removal, photography, and assisting the MD as needed.
Maintains the supply room, surgical equipment, and sterilizes supplies.
Stocks operating rooms, recovery rooms, exam rooms, crash carts, and anesthesia carts.
Orders and organizes supplies and maintains log books.
Calls in prescriptions as needed.
Checks surgical charts for necessary lab work, EKG, chest x-ray, consents, treatment, and instructions, ensuring availability preoperatively.
Performs patient counseling.
Ensures patients have appropriate discharge instructions for local anesthesia post-operatively and are accompanied by a responsible adult upon discharge.
Adheres to infection control and environmental safety practices to reduce the risk of infection.
Reports and documents information accurately and in a timely manner.
Uses safe methods of handling equipment and follows safety rules at all times.
Co-ordinates and implements special projects or assignments for the MD or any other duties as assigned.
