About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) works under the supervision of a charge nurse or registered nurse, who delegates tasks within the LVN’s scope of practice. The LVN provides safe, compassionate, focused nursing care to assigned patients with predictable healthcare needs and collaborates with other health team members while applying continuous quality improvement principles. The position supports an organizational culture of Service Excellence and follows Service Excellence Standards when interacting with customer groups. Northwest Physicians Group is a physician network serving patients at primary, specialty, and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. It is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The position is part-time at Northwest Urgent Care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in Texas.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association, obtained before providing patient care or during orientation, and maintained throughout employment.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others.
- Ability to remain calm during stressful situations and respond to pages.
- Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
- Ability to bend, lift at least 25 pounds, grasp, perform fine hand coordination, push, and pull.
- Ability to understand and interpret financial data.
- Ability to identify appropriate data and interpret its significance to clinical and operational activities.
