About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) provides direct nursing care to clients according to physicians’ orders and applicable client care standards, within their scope of practice. The nurse also directs non-licensed personnel in providing direct client care and operating the unit. The position is part-time and based in Crestwood’s Vallejo program, which provides a continuum of mental health care. Its Mental Health Rehabilitation Centers offer psychosocial rehabilitation in secure residential settings, generally with brief stays. Its Residential Care for Elderly program supports independence, health and wellness, management of physical and behavioral problems, and community integration.
Requirements
- Current California licensure as an LVN or LPT.
- Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice.
- Ability to supervise.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Current CPR and first aid certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in mental health nursing is preferred.
