About The Position

East Village Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their team in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong general practice background, be confident in their technical skills, communicate effectively, and enjoy being part of a collaborative veterinary team. This full-service small animal hospital provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care for cats and dogs, equipped with an in-house laboratory, digital radiography, and digital dental radiography. The clinic emphasizes communication, collaboration, and mutual support within its team.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Veterinary Technician license
  • Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Strong general practice experience
  • Confidence with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, treatments, and patient nursing
  • Experience with surgery and anesthesia monitoring
  • Strong communication and client-service skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Dependability and the ability to confidently jump in and support the team
  • A genuine commitment to thoughtful, compassionate patient care

Responsibilities

  • Supporting doctors during appointments and examinations
  • Providing treatments and high-quality nursing care
  • Performing venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Preparing patients for surgical procedures
  • Monitoring anesthesia and supporting patient recovery
  • Assisting with surgical procedures
  • Performing in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging
  • Educating and communicating with pet parents
  • Maintaining accurate medical records
  • Collaborating closely with doctors and fellow team members
