About The Position

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) - Emergency Cladda Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Team is a 24-hour emergency and growing specialty veterinary hospital serving Fredericksburg, VA and the surrounding region. We combine round-the-clock emergency care with a growing roster of board-certified specialty services, giving our team access to advanced diagnostics, a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, and cases that keep the work interesting. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Cladda, you will be an integral part of our medical team, providing advanced nursing care in a fast-paced emergency setting. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes, and you will have access to cutting-edge technology to support high-quality care.

Requirements

  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician certification in Virginia, or eligibility for licensure
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and radiology
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for continuous learning, professional growth, and delivering outstanding patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in emergency or specialty veterinary medicine preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients
  • Triage incoming patients and assist with stabilization and critical care
  • Monitor anesthetized patients and assist in surgical and emergency procedures
  • Perform diagnostic procedures, including radiographs, bloodwork, cytology, and urinalysis
  • Utilize advanced medical equipment, including endoscopy, CT, and ultrasound
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with clients regarding patient status and treatment plans
  • Perform advanced technical skills, including but not limited to central line placement, nasogastric tube placement, urethral catheter placement, laceration repair and suturing, wound management and bandaging, and chest tube and feeding tube maintenance
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes
  • Assist in training new team members and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols
  • Additional training and mentorship is available for technicians looking to develop more advanced skills.
