About The Position

Perimeter Behavioral of Forrest City has an immediate opening for a licensed therapist. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving the lives of those with mental health issues. Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in counseling, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, or related human services field.
  • Unrestricted Arkansas licensure required.
  • LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LMSW, or LAC (preferred).
  • Will consider PLMSW or PLPC with stipulations.
  • At least one (1) year of related experience in a hospital setting with psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Two years’ experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances or substance abuse preferred (not required if holding an appropriate Master’s degree).
  • Experience with group work modalities and techniques.
  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work with youth in challenging situations.
  • Successful completion of CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Psychosocial assessment of new patients; developing an update or detailed reassessment of the patient
  • Maintains contact with family and significant others in the patient’s life when appropriate and provides patient and family education, support, and advocacy
  • Provides coordination and acts as liaison with community based social and mental health agencies
  • Facilitates discharge planning and conducts post discharge follow-up to assure that linkage of the patient with community resources has occurred reducing re-hospitalization
  • Facilitate groups with patients daily
