Licensed Social Worker / Licensed Professional Counselor
About The Position
PrimeCare Medical is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at the Indiana County Jail in Indiana, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Behavioral Health Professional provides and monitors mental health services for inmates, conducts clinical and risk assessments, coordinates referrals and placements, supports quality assurance, delivers in-service education, and prepares monthly performance reports.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as an LPC, LSW, or LCSW in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Master’s degree or greater in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Service field, with a concentration in clinical coursework, training, and/or experience.
- At least two years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, documenting findings that include at minimum a mental status examination, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
- Make referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
- Conduct risk assessments using structured interviews and risk assessment tools.
- Manage inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm using existing protocols and current policies and procedures.
- Serve as PrimeCare Medical’s mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
- Facilitate admission and placement of inmates or patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
- Monitor all mental health services provided.
- Monitor clinical services to ensure they meet NCCHC standards of care and accepted psychiatric and psychological standards.
- Serve as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
- Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
- Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.
