About The Position

PrimeCare Medical is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to work as a Behavioral Health Professional in the medical department at the Adams County Correctional Complex in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The role provides behavioral health assessments and services for inmates, including clinical and suicide-risk assessments, referrals, care coordination, and monitoring of mental health services. The Behavioral Health Professional also supports quality assurance, staff education, and monthly performance reporting.

Requirements

• Must hold a current LPC, LSW, or LCSW license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Must have a master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, or a related Human Service field, with a concentration in clinical coursework, training, and/or experience.
• Must have at least two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical assessments based on referrals and self-referrals, documenting findings that include at minimum a mental status examination, case conceptualization, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
• Make referrals to psychiatry when appropriate.
• Conduct risk assessments using structured interviews and risk assessment tools.
• Manage inmates at risk for suicide or self-harm according to current policies, procedures, and existing protocols.
• Serve as the PrimeCare Medical mental health liaison for mental health services outside the facility.
• Facilitate admission and placement of inmates or patients to forensic hospitals when necessary.
• Monitor all mental health services provided.
• Monitor clinical services to ensure standards of care align with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric and psychological standards.
• Participate as a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develop and conduct in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
• Collect data and prepare monthly performance reports.
