Licensed Qualified Behavioral Health Professional
About The Position
VitalCore Health Strategies is hiring a full-time, master's-level Behavioral Health Professional at El Paso County Jail in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The role works with all disciplines on the Behavioral Health Unit to support effective services for patients in a correctional environment. The position uses clinical skills to prioritize treatment needs, manage crises, and provide brief interventions, including CBT and Motivational Interviewing. The ideal candidate can make independent clinical decisions while seeking assistance or supervisory intervention when needed, and has excellent, timely documentation skills.
Requirements
- Hold a master's-level behavioral health license, such as LMSW, LPC, or equivalent.
- Be able to administer assessments, make clinical decisions, and provide mental health treatment.
- Graduate from a master's-level program.
- Have at least one year of employment in a social work capacity at a public or private agency, or equivalent.
- Receive a satisfactory background investigation report.
- Demonstrate excellent and timely documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform risk assessments of inmates.
- Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections.
- Conduct discharge planning.
- Assist inmates in planning and implementing treatment goals for the duration of their stay.
- Assist in planning and implementing program and project goals and objectives.
- Prepare documentation, records, and reports.
