About The Position

Ascellus is a behavioral health provider focused on helping injured workers restore their physical and emotional wellbeing. The company is seeking California-licensed psychologists to provide time-limited outpatient psychotherapy to injured workers in the workers’ compensation space. This is a 1099 role designed for clinicians seeking flexibility, operational support, and a thoughtful clinical culture.

Psychologists typically provide 4–12 therapy sessions per case and may choose a caseload of 5–20 cases. They set their own availability and receive referrals according to their chosen volume and capacity. Documentation must be completed within 24–48 hours using the Ascellus Provider Portal. In-office locations are listed as ZIP codes 93306, 93307, and 93309.

Compensation is $160–$200 per therapy session, depending on relevant experience; the high end of the range is reserved for clinicians with significant applicable experience. No-show or late-cancel appointments within 24 hours are paid at the full hourly rate when proper patient outreach has occurred.

Ascellus provides referral flow and intake coordination, billing and collections support, credentialing support, scheduling and reminders, and access to a consultation community that includes a clinical team specializing in workers’ compensation behavioral health, peer consultation, case conferences, and training.

Requirements

• Active California Psychologist license (PhD/PsyD).
• At least 1 year of post-licensure experience.
• Competence in CBT, evidence-based treatment, and timely documentation.
• Ability to provide services at in-office locations in ZIP codes 93306, 93307, and 93309.

Nice To Haves

• Training or certification in PTSD interventions such as EMDR, PE, or CPT.
• Background in health psychology.
• Experience in Military, VA, or forensic settings.
• Spanish language fluency.

Responsibilities
