About The Position

The Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections role with the Department of Corrections offers the chance to guide important mental health services at the State Corrections Institution (SCI) at Pine Grove. This position allows you to support inmate well-being while leading skilled psychological staff. Your work will help create a stable and supportive environment within the facility. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve the public and promote positive change. This position leads psychological services that support the treatment and evaluation of inmates at SCI Pine Grove.

Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Must be in possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Guide psychological services and oversee daily program operations
  • Direct the work of psychological staff and support training and development
  • Review evaluations, treatment plans, and therapeutic procedures
  • Lead or participate in key teams that address mental health and crisis issues
  • Provide guidance to staff on treatment needs and program development
  • Review and prepare diagnostic and evaluation reports for inmate treatment
