The Licensed Psychologist Manager, Corrections oversees the psychological services program and supports clinical and administrative functions within the facility. Requirements

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist MH or Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness, intellectual disabilities or behavioral dysfunction.
  • Possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology or possession of a valid license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board.
  • Applicants with out-of-state licensure must obtain Pennsylvania licensure within one year of employment.
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise psychological services staff and take part in evaluations, screenings, treatment planning, and crisis intervention
  • Develop and oversee psychological services programs and help implement new policies and procedures
  • Serve as chair for key review and support committees within the institution
  • Review diagnostic tools and prepare or evaluate mental health reports
  • Provide consultation to specialized units and staff and participate in meetings to review inmate adjustment and treatment plans
  • Testify when required and ensure compliance with standards for psychological services
