About The Position

Ohana Pacific Health is seeking passionate Licensed Practical Nurses to provide professional nursing care to residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures. The role includes administering physician-ordered medications and treatments, taking and transcribing telephone orders, maintaining resident medication and medical-supply inventories, and ordering medications and treatments from pharmacies or other suppliers. The nurse conducts accurate physical assessments, determines residents’ needs, implements appropriate interventions, and completes assessments for admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the State of Hawaii.
Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in geriatrics and knowledge of current nursing standards of practice.
First Aid and CPR certification; training can be completed in-house.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care to residents according to facility policies and procedures.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and in accordance with policy and procedure.
Take telephone orders from physicians and transcribe them to the medication administration record, physician order sheet, resident chart, and treatment or care plans as appropriate.
Maintain appropriate inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies.
Order required medications and treatments from the pharmacy or other suppliers.
Conduct physical assessments of residents, determine their needs, and implement appropriate interventions.
Perform assessments on admission, transfer, and discharge.
