Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Hawaii.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in geriatrics and familiarity with current nursing standards of practice.
- First Aid and CPR certification; training may be completed in-house.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and according to facility policies and procedures.
- Take telephone orders from physicians and transcribe them to the medication administration record, physician order sheet, resident chart, and treatment or care plans as appropriate.
- Maintain appropriate inventory of resident medications and medical stock supplies, and order required medications and treatments from the pharmacy or another supplier.
- Conduct accurate physical assessments of residents, determine their needs, and implement appropriate interventions.
- Perform assessments on admission, transfer, and discharge.
