LPN- 12 Hour Shift
About The Position
Chautauqua Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide resident-centered nursing care at its facility in Dunkirk, New York. The role includes administering medications and treatments and helping ensure residents’ safety, comfort, and well-being. The center is part of The McGuire Group and describes itself as a CMS 5-Star rated facility with a close-knit, supportive team environment that values compassion, teamwork, and professional growth. This is a full-time overnight position with a 12-hour shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The listed rate is $28.25–$31.35 per hour, depending on experience, with an additional $1.50 overnight shift differential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of medication administration, infection control, and resident care practices.
- Ability to supervise nursing assistants and work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, resident-centered approach to care.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree preferred.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility or with the geriatric population preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in accordance with resident assessments, care plans, and facility policies.
- Administer medications, treatments, enteral feedings, and IV therapies within the LPN scope of practice.
- Monitor resident conditions and promptly communicate changes to providers, supervisors, and responsible parties.
- Accurately document care, treatments, observations, and medication administration.
- Supervise and support Nursing Assistants to ensure quality resident care.
- Maintain up-to-date resident care information and communicate pertinent information during shift changes.
- Follow infection control, safety, resident rights, and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and other nursing responsibilities as assigned.
