About The Position

Benchmark at Rye is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment. The nurse works as part of a supportive team and helps build relationships with residents and associates. This is a full-time overnight position from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., paying $36–$40 per hour.

Requirements

• Current state RN or LPN license and CPR certification.
• Graduation from an approved RN/LPN program, in accordance with state requirements.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with elderly people is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior or health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, Resident Care Assistants, and Executive Director, in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Mentor, guide, and direct Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their jobs.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and help prevent elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
