About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse performs selected acts to promote health and care for people who are ill, injured, or experiencing changes in normal health processes. The work requires specialized skill, knowledge, and judgment, and nursing care is provided under the direction of a registered nurse. The role supports the Village’s mission and values and requires working wherever assigned throughout the Village Care Center.

This is a PRN nursing-pool position. Associates are scheduled as needed and must work at least two shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift, and at least three of the six holidays identified by JKV policy per calendar year. Associates select preferred shifts through UKG by the specified monthly deadline and must sign up for entire shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m.). Additional hours are usually available upon request. Failure to meet the nursing-pool guidelines in three months within a rolling 12-month period may result in separation of employment.

PRN associates are not eligible for paid time off or health benefits, but may contribute to the Village’s TSA plan under its current provisions. The position is eligible for a $5.00-per-hour PRN shift differential for all hours worked. Applicants must not have been employed at JKV within the past 60 days and must have at least one year of experience. A post-offer background check and health screening are required.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed practical nurse in the state of Missouri.
• At least one year of experience.
• Must not have been employed at JKV within the last 60 days.
• Excellent social, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Aptitudes in spatial, clerical, and form perception; color discrimination; motor coordination; finger and manual dexterity; and eye/hand/foot coordination.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and solve problems.
• Must work a minimum of two shifts per month, including at least one weekend shift.
• Must work at least three of the six designated holidays per calendar year.
• Must work assigned shifts in their entirety and be available to work where assigned throughout the care center.
• Must complete a post-offer background check and health screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform selected nursing acts to promote health and care for people who are ill, injured, or experiencing alterations in normal health processes.
• Provide nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Work on all nursing communities in the Village Care Center as assigned.
• Meet nursing-pool shift requirements, including minimum monthly shifts, weekend shifts, and holiday shifts.
• Use UKG to select preferred shifts by the required monthly deadline and sign up for shifts in their entirety.
