The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in its Quick Care walk-in clinics. The role provides care to a wide variety of patients, from newborns to geriatric patients, helps ensure patient care standards are met, and supports access to additional care options. It is part of a dynamic, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment that emphasizes teamwork and opportunities for learning and growth. The position is a regular salaried role at 60% time (24 hours per week), with shifts scheduled Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Standard shifts are primarily 10–12 hours but may vary based on clinic needs. Work locations include Iowa City and surrounding clinics, based on clinical need and hours. The position provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, participates in developing nursing care plans and implementing therapeutic programs, and may direct and supervise assigned nursing personnel in less complex situations. In more complex situations, the LPN assists the registered professional nurse. Applicants must submit a resume. The position is not eligible for University sponsorship for employment authorization. Successful candidates must disclose conviction history and undergo a criminal background check. The department is also recruiting for a Medical Assistant II role and intends to hire one candidate for either position based on qualifications.
