LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse - QuickCare Clinics 60% Weekends
About The Position
The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Quick Care walk-in clinics. The position serves patients ranging from newborns to geriatric patients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and uses a multidisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive care. The LPN helps ensure patient care standards are met and connects patients with additional care options. The LPN provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse, participates in developing nursing care plans and implementing therapeutic programs, and may direct and supervise assigned nursing personnel in less complex situations. In more complex situations, the LPN assists the registered professional nurse. Standard shifts are primarily 10–12 hours, though schedules may vary based on clinic needs. The position is located in Iowa City and surrounding clinics based on clinical need and hours.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for a temporary work permit.
- Complete the continuing education hours required to maintain a valid LPN certification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet University of Iowa Fleet Safety Standards.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum one year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN.
- Previous experience in QuickCare Clinics.
- Ambulatory experience.
- EPIC experience.
- Previous walk-in clinic experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
