About The Position

Broughton Hospital is currently recruiting for multiple Licensed Practical Nurses. The primary purpose of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is to prepare and administer medication for assigned shift, as well as ensure the medication room follows clinical standards of practice relating to storage and maintenance of medications. The LPN also assists the Registered Nurse (RN) with patient/family education/teaching, treatments and discharge planning/teaching during the patient's hospital stay. The LPN is responsible for performing a variety of skilled health care activities for patients and carries out structured interventions based on the comprehensive plan of care. Work involves direct patient care contact on an assigned shift to ensure individual patient needs are met and is performed under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. LPNs must have a valid license to practice in North Carolina.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
  • Must be able to pass a State Bureau of Investigation Criminal History Check.
  • Must complete and pass BLS/CPR training and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training during orientation.

Responsibilities
