Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)
About The Position
PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to work in the medical department at the Lebanon County Correctional Facility in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The role provides comprehensive nursing care and performs duties under the supervision of an RN. Available shifts are part-time evening and part-time night shifts. The position includes a two-week orientation period with on-the-job training and shadowing alongside nursing staff. Nurses maintain and update electronic medical records and help ensure those records are secure, while communicating relevant information to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Strong patient assessment skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrated clinical competency.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to inmate/patients.
- Communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain, update, and secure electronic medical records.
- Maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in accordance with applicable state and federal laws.
- Conduct sick call for inmate/patients and provide treatment for illnesses and injuries as defined by written protocol and approved by the PCM Medical Director.
- Observe, report, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress of inmate/patients.
- Participate in formulating plans of care.
- Record, retrieve, and file medical information in inmate/patient medical records.
- Complete a two-week orientation involving on-the-job training and shadowing with nursing staff.
