About The Position
The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in support of and as directed by a physician. The role involves observing, conducting, and documenting thorough assessments of patients’ medical status throughout their course of treatment. The nurse also performs assigned back-office duties and rotates as a telephone triage nurse, carrying out all work in accordance with Practice policies and procedures. Other related duties may be required. Responsibilities identified as essential are subject to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or a nursing vocational or nursing technical school.
- Current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State.
- Specialized certifications as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients in support of and as directed by the physician.
- Administer medications and document their therapeutic effects.
- Observe, conduct, and document thorough assessments of patients’ medical status throughout treatment.
- Perform assigned back-office duties and rotate as a telephone triage nurse in an efficient and professional manner.
- Perform duties in accordance with Practice policies and procedures.
- Perform related duties as required.
